February 22, 2024 by Organic Welltree

Intrigued about the white, high back chair that can be found in one of our fantastic rooms?

Here is the story of our Ingram Mackintosh Chair:

Charles Rennie Mackintosh was a Scottish designer, architect and artist. Hi is remembered as the figurehead of the Glasgow School movement for his prolific contributions to international Art Nouveau.

Charles Rennie Mackintosh designed the high back Ingram Chair around 1910 for the White Dining Room of the Ingram Tea Rooms in Glasgow. After searching for a the high back Ingram Chair for a while we came across Bruce Hamilton, who is based in Glasgow. Bruce has been creating high-end reproductions of Charles Rennie Mackintosh furniture for over 30 years and hand crafted our white Ingram Chair. For more information on Bruce Hamilton’s work, visit https://brucehamilton.co.uk/

The seat is covered with Harris Tweed and fits perfectly in the colour scheme of our Mackintosh Room.

Enjoy to stay in our Art Nouveau styled guest room and discover more about the great Scottish Artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
